So You Want To Do The Loop?

Know About it Before you Go About It

Did you know, more people climb Mt. Everest every year than those that complete America’s Great Loop! Think about that for a moment. What if there was a way to try The Loop before actually making the decision to do it. The Fleming 58 “45 North” is your answer as she navigates America’s Great Loop in its entirety, traveling to and from her summer home in Traverse City, Michigan and winter home in Hobe Sound, Florida annually.  Deepen your appreciation for cruising by chartering a segment of this extraordinary route, engaging in the intricacies of cruising. Participate firsthand in navigation, docking, and itinerary planning alongside the experienced crew. This distinctive opportunity enables you to unravel the nuances and immerse yourself in the requirements of cruising the Loop and beyond.

The Right Coast

Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway

The “Ditch” might evoke a different vibe compared to a meandering, charming waterway, but its nickname is spot on. Back in 1824, when Congress gave the green light for the U.S. canal system, “Intracoastal” was fitting. Nowadays, the “ICW” weaves through a captivating blend of history, culture, and crucial transportation routes, embracing the picturesque seaside communities.  The only true way to experience it is by boat, and the Fleming 58 is a stylish way to do the “Ditch”.

Hudson and Barge

A High End View

The Statue of Liberty, the historically significant Hudson River, and West Point all leave a distinct impression when observed from a boat’s deck. The daily influx of individuals passing under the George Washington Bridge is minuscule compared to the vast number crossing over it. Only a handful have the opportunity to appreciate it from this perspective. Forget trying to catch sight of the iconic Little Red Lighthouse by car. The intended experience of seeing it from a boat is far better. All this leads to the Erie Canal entrance in Albany, New York where the real canal immersion experience begins.

Fresh Water Seas

Third Coast Freshness

After reaching Traverse City, “45 North” is open for charter. Explore charming waterfront towns such as Leland, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Beaver Island, and Frankfort—all enticing options aboard the Fleming 58. Customized itineraries and accommodations can be arranged to suit the preferences of each charter party. We call the Great Lakes home. Our playground we’ve conquered and been schooled on.  There are many miles of the Third Coast we’ve yet to cruise and hope you consider cruising discovering them.

Locks Of Fun!

The Long and Winding River

The fall arrival signals the departure of “45 North” from her summer home in Northern Michigan offers a unique journey south through America’s Flowing Heartland that you can be a part of. Exploring the rich history and river culture along the Mississippi and Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway provides a unique opportunity to gain experience of “locking through” and river navigation requirements. The finish line of the “TenTom” brings another unique experience, crossing the Gulf of Mexico’s open water. No better way to gain valuable experience than from the Pilothouse of a Fleming. This trip itself with an experienced crew and comfort the Fleming 58 offers is worth the price of entry!
